Takes people awhile to realize it sometimes, but it really is. All in all, IR may be Radiohead's most "human" album and maybe their warmest, it will make you feel loved. However, where OK Computer is a roaring guitar-driven symphony of distortion, In Rainbows drops a lot of distortion on a lot of songs and is more like Abbey Road, where OKC is like Revolver. In my mind, this is RH's other general "rock and roll" album. They break away from the electronica that is featured so heavily in Kid A and others and return to a rock sound like OK Computer, albeit a bit more psychedelic and softer in general. In Rainbows - This is Radiohead re-embracing their more human, sensitive, sensual, and analog side. This album also goes through many different forms, starting out very electronic and ending very jazzy, keeping it very interesting. With songs like Packt, Pyramid Song, I Might Be Wrong, and Hunting Bears, there's plenty of amazing content to keep you occupied. It may take awhile to actually grasp and start to enjoy, but when you get it, it clicks. You'll discover something new on every listen, just pay attention.Īmnesiac - This album is fantastic. The production quality and mixing are second to none and Kid A is like a wedding cake, it has 10-12 delicious, delicious layers all waiting for you to enjoy. Such an amazing album, that combines an almost perfectly equal mix of slow songs with fast songs, electronic songs with more traditional, analog songs.
